Update: The Latest Changes To My Blog

Hello again, dear readers!

Day 12 of the challenge calls for an update. Since I keep up to date with my life on here fairly regularly, there are not many changes that you need to be alerted to. As for my blog, that has undergone some changes this past year.

Like housework, some changes need to be done

Since I'm still new to the whole "blogging for money" thing, I've been experimenting with affiliate links (those are the banners at the top of my page) and ad revenue. I will change banners from time to time if there is something I think you may be interested in. Blogging for money is not an easy thing and it will be a while before I see any substantial income, if at all. However, I believe there are lessons to be learned on this journey of mine as I figure out what works, what doesn't, and how much is the hit/windfall going to cost me.

I'm also trying to tighten things up so that not only will Google see my page and make it easier for you to find me. That, and make things so that when you're here, your experience is not a horrible one with ad eyesores and popups that get in the way of scrolling.

Finally, the layout has changed a bit since I resumed blogging. I found a background with fonts that I liked and rearranged a few things in the layout. I haven't ruled out changing the background again, but I don't see any point in doing so for the time being.

Pardon the Dust

Thank you for your patience, dear readers. As you may have noticed, I'm in the process of revamping my blog so as to make your time here a more user-friendly experience. For some reason, I'm having a heluva time previewing my blog before I save the changes made to it. I don't know if Blogger is doing some updates or if my browser, Vivaldi, is showing its beta status (I never had problems with the preview feature prior to these past few days). Please excuse any formatting craziness you see in the meantime.

At any rate, I'll be solid within the next day or so. Thank you for your patience and carry on.

new blog?

hey everyone,

since i'll be writing alot about the white sox this season, i was thinking i'd create a separate blog just for them. i'll still continue to write on this blog, but i'll create a special sox blog, cuz i kinda want this blog to cover more topics other then sports.

only trouble im having with this idea is what to name the new blog. i admit, im not too creative with names. i was thinking 'a view from the south', a referance to me being physically stuck here in tucson, the location of which side of chicago the sox are on, and a play on the phrase 'a view from above'. its a bit wordy, but it was better then the ripoff 'southside sox', which is the name of another sox blog on sbnation, which i frequent alot.

other possible names were 'palehose princess' (carl skanburg's 'palehose' comics were the inspiration for this 1), 'snakepit sox' (yet another AZ reference), 'cell's bells' (us cellular field w/ ac/dc thrown in), and thats all i can remember for now.

now that i think about it, 'cell's bells' doesnt sound like a bad name for the blog. certainly more catchy and shorter than 'a view from the south'.
