Engineers, Scientific and Social

Throught provoking speech written by Admiral Ben Moreell and delivered in 1953 at a conference for the Jones & Laughlin Steel Corp. in Detroit, Michigan.

Though it was delivered over 50 yrs ago, many of the Admiral's points ring just as true today as they did back then, namely with regard to the "social engineer" aspect-its prodigies can be seen in modern dictators or modern liberalism.

Freedom from responsibility; the Hierarchy of Needs

One of the dirty secrets of the healthcare debate here in the US is that it pits personal responsibility against the powers of government.

PC and Islam

I know, I've all but abandoned this page :(. School has been taking up all my time!

So much has happened so far. First, Barry won the Nobel Peace Prize for...being black! He's done absolutely nothing to merit such an award!

Then, terrorists struck again-this time at Ft. Hood Army Base in TX. But what made this place special was that the terrorist was an Army Major, a devout Moslem named Nidal Malik Hasan. Unfortunately, the scumbag lived. But the story didn't stop there. According to certain reports, Hasan had been involved in some pretty seedy stuff. He attended the same mosque as the 9/11 terrorists, and gave a lecture to fellow doctors at the infamous Walter Reed Medical Center about how "infidels" should be killed and desecrated.

With that kind of history, why didn't anyone report this guy?! Well, the answer to that is PC, a shorthand version of "political correctness". The London Telegraph reported that several of Hasan's colleagues at the lecture were frightened by his comments, but they would not report him for fear of being labeled as racist or "islamophobic".

PC has taught us to fear Islam.

Because we fear Islam, our people are dying.

Below is an article about PC and Islam. It's a bit lengthy, but it's very good nonetheless. It was written by David Kupelian.

What's behind America's politically correct 'love' of Islam?

The second they heard about the Fort Hood massacre, millions of thinking Americans wondered in their gut: "Oh God, is this another crazy Muslim terrorist carrying out a one-man jihad, as has happened so many times before?"

Then, when the alleged perpetrator's name and religion were made public (Nidal Malik Hasan, a lifelong Muslim) along with eyewitness reports he had
shouted the obligatory pre-terror-attack proclamation, "Allahu akbar" ("Allah is greatest") before commencing his orgy of slaughter, their suspicions were confirmed: This was surely a major attack on the American homeland by a Muslim terrorist.

Further evidence quickly rolled in: Hasan had reportedly
refused to fight fellow Muslims, called the war on terror a "war on Islam," told a co-worker Muslims had a right to rise up and attack Americans, and reportedly had posted online his astoundingly twisted belief that an Islamic suicide bomber was morally equivalent to a soldier throwing himself on a grenade to save the lives of his comrades.

In other words, although the
Army had many warnings Hasan was a certifiable, America-hating, jihadist "ticking time bomb" waiting to go off, it did nothing to avert last week's terror attack. Why?

And why, after the truth about Hasan became undeniable following his mass slaughter, does the government, as well as its mouthpiece the establishment press, agonize in their usual pathetic manner over what could possibly have motivated the Army psychiatrist to coldly, methodically murder 13 and wound 38 others?

Shortly after the attack, right on schedule, the FBI announced it wasn't terror-related.

Time magazine moronically blamed posttraumatic stress disorder – even though Hasan has never been deployed in a war zone.

The shooter's relatives insisted he had been the
victim of religious harassment because of his faith, which must have made him snap.

According to the Washington Post, the problem was that Hasan was lonely. That's right, the newspaper's report, titled
"The lonely life of alleged Fort Hood shooter," was subtitled: "'He was mistreated. He didn't have nobody. He was all alone,' says neighbor."

Meanwhile, President Obama warned Americans against "jumping to conclusions" about what might have motivated the shooter.

Why, after a Muslim commits a terrorist act, do authorities always announce almost instantaneously – before they could possibly know – that the attack was not terror-related?

Why do the news media always torture themselves and their readers with the most wildly improbable explanations in their attempts to avoid the obvious truth?

Before we answer these questions, lest you think I overstate the case, take a quick trip with me down jihad memory lane.

Remember the beltway snipers? In October 2002, Muslim convert John Muhammad along with 17-year-old Lee Boyd "John" Malvo paralyzed the Washington metropolitan area for three bloody weeks, killing 10 and critically injuring three others. But after their capture, most in the media were loath to focus seriously on Islamic jihad as a motive, despite the fact that Muhammad had praised the Sept. 11 hijackers and had threatened to commit major terrorist acts within the U.S.

Like alcoholics uncomfortable with facing the painful truth, the media retreated into comfortable denial. Their standard analysis of what made Muhammad tick included anything and everything except jihad. Thus, the Los Angeles Times offered up no less than six possible motives for Muhammad's killing spree, according to Daniel Pipes, an expert on militant Islam. They included "his 'stormy relationship' with his family, his 'stark realization' of loss and regret, his perceived sense of abuse as an American Muslim post-9/11, his desire to 'exert control' over others, his relationship with Malvo, and his trying to make a quick buck," said Pipes – "but did not mention jihad."

"Likewise," he adds, "a Boston Globe article found 'there must have been something in his social interaction – in his marriage or his military career – that pulled the trigger.'"

This see-no-jihad, hear-no-jihad, speak-no-jihad mindset has become standard operating procedure for the establishment press.

On July 4, 2002, a cab driver named Hesham Hadayet walked into the Los Angeles International Airport and shot two people to death before being shot and killed by a security guard. Despite the fact that Hadayet was Egyptian and that he had chosen the Israeli El Al ticket counter as the site for venting his rage, any suggestion that Hadayet was carrying out his own personal jihad was immediately dismissed.

"Investigators … believe that Hadayet was simply an overstressed man who snapped," reported the Los Angeles Times. "He was known as a quiet, observant Muslim," added the Times, which explained away the killer's virulent anti-Semitism by saying, "While Hadayet occasionally mentioned a hatred for Israel, [one former employee] saw it more as a cultural perspective on Mideast politics than an emotion that would fuel violence."

One of the worst air disasters in modern history, Egypt Air Flight 990 crashed into the Atlantic shortly after takeoff from New York in October 1999, killing 217.

Two and a half years later, the National Transportation Safety Board finally reached the same conclusion that virtually everyone else had immediately after the crash – that the plane's Egyptian copilot, Gameel El-Batouty, had cut power to the engines and intentionally sent the plane plummeting into the ocean, killing all aboard.

But the government panel declined to suggest a motive, except to speculate that El-Batouty might have "committed suicide."

Suicide? Pardon my French, but I think "mass murder" or "terrorism" would much better describe the wanton annihilation of hundreds of innocent people. Yet, despite the fact the copilot had calmly repeated over and over the Arabic phrase "Tawkalt" ("I rely on Allah") for almost a minute and a half during his deed – and that such behavior, according to the report, "is not consistent with the reaction that would be expected from a pilot who is encountering an unexpected or uncommanded flight condition" – federal investigators steered clear of suggesting jihad as a motive.

The U.S. government, not wanting to offend Muslim sensitivities, rarely mentions "Muslim" or "Islamic" when describing Islamic terrorism. For example, when a massive jihad plot to blow up 10 airliners over the Atlantic and kill thousands was foiled in 2006, then–Homeland Security chief Michael
Chertoff briefed his agency using only the word "extremists" to describe the plotters – no mention of Islam. All of the two dozen would-be terrorists were Muslims.

This syndrome has just gotten worse since the ascension to the presidency of Barack Obama, who takes every opportunity to criticize America and fawn over Islam – even
calling America "one of the largest Muslim countries in the world" and bowing obsequiously before the Muslim king of Saudi Arabia.

So, why do we have this stubborn inability to come to grips with Islam?
Everyone attributes it to "political correctness," but I think it's time to move beyond that shallow, passé, near-meaningless phrase.

Do we dare admit what is really at play here? The truth is actually very simple.

We are afraid of Islam.

We are intimidated by Islam.

And because we are afraid of and intimidated by Islam, Islam is changing us – in two distinct and profound ways.

First, as is appallingly obvious, we're afraid to criticize Islam openly, for fear of having our head cut off or
having a fatwa put out on us like the director of the new "2012" film, or we're afraid of being sued by some of the very litigious Islamic organizations like CAIR, or we're afraid of being called a racist, extremist, hater or "Islamophobe" thanks to the tyranny of political correctness, or we're afraid of offending those in power and thereby risking our position, stature or other advantage. This reaction, while perhaps selfish and cowardly, is more-or-less conscious and strategic.

However, for some it goes much deeper: Being intimidated by Islam (or by anything, for that matter) actually causes some of us to mysteriously grow sympathetic toward it, to defend it, to side with it, even to convert to it. This unconscious shift in attitude, in response to fear of being hurt, is called the Stockholm syndrome, named after the 1973 Swedish bank robbery during which the four terrorized hostages sided with their criminal captors while disparaging the police risking their lives trying to save them.

We need to understand that a certain percentage of us, when we're intimidated and upset, start to emotionally gravitate toward and agree with whatever is intimidating us. Not just superficially, as a temporary tactic of placating a bully so he won't hurt us, but more profoundly, deep down in the inner sanctum of our being where our thoughts and feelings germinate and our loyalties bloom.
Intimidation – that is, causing others to react with upset and fear – is a fundamental principle of mind control, fully capable of causing the victim's loyalties to shift toward the intimidator, whether a schoolyard bully, gang leader, child molester, hostage-taking bank robber or Islamic radical.

"Political correctness" – which is basically a low-grade Stockholm syndrome playing out on a broad societal stage – is actually a subtle form of brainwashing. Even establishment mouthpiece Newsweek, in its famous Dec. 24, 1990, cover story on the then-new phenomenon of political correctness on college campuses (titled "Thought Police") conceded this truth when it reported: "PC is, strictly speaking, a totalitarian philosophy."

Bottom line: We're intimidated, bullied, threatened, terrorized – and so we capitulate, not just in word and deed, but in thought. Get it?

Most of the time, of course, this occurs below the radar of our own consciousness. We don't understand what's really happening. So we interpret our growing sympathy and affinity for whatever intimidated us as evidence of our loving, open-minded, enlightened nature. In reality, it's the result of craven weakness on our part.

The problem with Islam:

Now imagine there's a religion, which we'll call "Religion X." Many adherents to "Religion X" live peaceful lives in pursuit of life, liberty and happiness. Whatever their religious doctrine is, they don't bother anybody.

But other adherents to Religion X believe – indeed, are taught by prominent clerics, including within the U.S. – that they must rule the world, and that the lord of their religion condones, even encourages, their killing those who refuse to convert to Religion X, or who leave Religion X.

So, one contingent of this religion we are inclined to allow freely to exist within our borders – indeed our laws and culture demand it. But virtually all Americans would rightly categorize the other contingent of the same religion as a murderous, mind-control cult that should be driven from our shores.

The problem with Religion X, then, is that it's really hard to distinguish one type of adherent from the other.

That's the problem we're having with Islam. Every time a jihadist like Hasan goes on a terrorist killing spree, invariably all who knew him
say they were totally stunned, as he was always so "calm, cool and soft-spoken." And yet there were warning signs, such that were we not blinded by our fears and cowardice, we would not merely have seen them, we would have acted on them – and prevented last week's terrorist attack.

According to the London Telegraph, in an article headlined,
"Fort Hood gunman had told U.S. military colleagues that infidels should have their throats cut":
Major Nidal Malik Hasan, the gunman who killed 13 at America's Fort Hood military base, once gave a lecture to other doctors in which he said non-believers should be beheaded and have boiling oil poured down their throats.
He also told colleagues at America's top military hospital that non-Muslims were infidels condemned to hell who should be set on fire.

Hasan made these incendiary jihadist comments "in front of dozens of other doctors at Walter Reed Army Medical Centre in Washington, D.C." during a talk on the Quran, according to the report.

And how did his fellow doctors respond?

Although they were horrified, "One Army doctor who knew him said a fear of appearing discriminatory against a Muslim soldier had stopped fellow officers from filing formal complaints," reported the Telegraph.

Are you with me? "A fear of appearing discriminatory" caused 51 brave American soldiers to be shot by an Islamist monster, 13 fatally.

This inordinate fear, implanted in us by the lords of politically correct attitude, the subtle brainwashers of modern, secular society, is to blame.

It gets worse, much worse. As ABC now reports,
"U.S. intelligence agencies were aware months ago that Army Major Nidal Malik Hasan was attempting to make contact with people associated with al-Qaida."

The evil of "political correctness" – the totalitarian manipulation of thought, foisted on us by twisted elitist sociopaths who hate America and everything our soldiers have fought and died for over the last two centuries, and continue to fight and die for – has to end. Now. It's over. This nation must rise up and defy the insane thought control that is destroying our country right before our eyes.

In America, a land of precious and unique freedoms, there exists a natural and healthy tension between our cherished First Amendment religious freedom for all Americans – including Muslims – and our paramount need to protect our country from infiltration, subversion and terror attacks by "true-believing" Islamic jihadists. This tension must be resolved by our striking exactly the right balance, but that balance can be achieved only when we first rise above fear and cowardice, and defy the treacherous PC mind-control culture that is poisoning our minds and crippling our national security.

One last point: If you really want to do something besides complain about the spread of Islamic radicalism in the United States – a level of infiltration already far more advanced than you can imagine – then make a donation to WND's legal defense fund. We are defending, at great expense, two people who most definitely are not intimidated by Islamic radicalism:
"Muslim Mafia" co-author and former federal agent Paul David Gaubatz and his son Chris Gaubatz, who daringly penetrated the belly of the Islamist beast in the U.S. for six months, retrieved 12,000 pages of smoking-gun documentary evidence, reported their findings in the blockbuster book (already the basis for new congressional investigations) – and are now being sued by a terror-front group that wants the evidence of its plots and misdeeds returned! We have hired the best First Amendment lawyer in the country, and we can and must win this all-important fight, but it's expensive – so please help. OK?

Peace!

unconstitutional, YES!!! i mean, you can only squash dissent so much before it boils over. if the president and his goons take the ultimate step in "bumping off" the dissenters, god forbid, you can only take so many lives before people start getting smart and fighting back. you can't possibly kill every single person who disagrees with you! dissent, though irritable, should never be outlawed for it keeps us on our toes.

there's a saying my mom's people, the serbs, have. it goes: "we'll be back". after WWII, the communists drove the king and his supporters out of the country. homesick refugees said that one day, hopefully, they would return to their homeland-thus, "we'll be back" was born.

our day has come. we may be condemned and labeled as terrorists for our traditional conservative beliefs, and some individuals may pay the ultimate price for their beliefs, but in the end, we will win. the dream of freedom will never die.

since you leftists like communists so much, i'll leave you with a choice quote:

political correctness defined

this quote comes courtesy of patrice lewis over at "rural revolution". from a contest at texas a&m university, we have the definition of political correctness, as follows:

"Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."

whoever came up with this definition should win the nobel prize! and notice how it subtly takes a jab at the people running the media, as well as those who follow this idiotic concept.

everything you ever wanted to know about the orthodox church, part 1

under normal circumstances, i dont focus or write much about religion. i read about it and i visit many religious websites and blogs, but i generally tend to distance myself from the institution.

today, that will change.

this started actually in the comment section of a blog i subscribe to on my sports blog-cells bells. when the authors featured sports (specifically, baseball)-themed tattoos. i commented that although i'd like to get a tattoo myself and have nothing against body art, my religion prevented me from doing so. that comment opened the floodgates into the world of orthodox christanity. since one of the authors made an inquiry about my faith, and there was more room here on this blog to discuss it than in the comment section of that other blog, i decided to dedicate a few entries here on this blog to describe the orthodox church and what it stands for.

the first thing you need to know about the orthodox church is that while we are called a variety of names, the mission remains the same. we have been called the byzantine church, but since the catholics have a byzantine division, my church is referred to now as the "eastern orthodox christian" church. however, it is most commonly abbreviated as simply "orthodox church".

we in the orthodox church trace our roots all the way back to the time of jesus and his disciples. it was our religion that the roman empire adopted and later made official. while the history books refer to the early church as "catholic", the meaning was not the same as today, for the roman catholic and orthodox churches were once united. the term "catholic" was basically and encompassing term for early christians. as a result of this shared history, the roman catholic and orthodox christian churches do share some saints, most notably some early ones such as john the baptist, st. jude (yes, that one-the patron saint of lost causes), st. nicholas, and st. augustine of antioch (i also think we share st. augustine of hippo, but im not sure on that one).

before the split in 12th century, the roman emperor constantine convened a church council in the city of nicea in around the 10th century. this meeting basically established the orthodox church as we know it today-who the saints were, what procedures were to be done regarding communion, prayers, and the most well-known remainder of this meeting was the nicene creed.

more to come later.

the iranian revolution

ladies and gentlemen of the jury,

while this whole protest is going on in iran, i'd best put my 2 cents in.

as we all know, last week was iran's elections. the leading candidates were mahmoud ahme-nutjob and his opponent, mir-hussain moussavi. moussavi was touted as a reformer, while we all know ahme-nutjob's role as a holocaust denier who is looking to wipe israel off the map.

we also know that ahme-nutjob won, but moussavi is calling his victory a fraud because it was known that ahme-nutjob's private goon squad went out and practiced voter intimidation. voter fraud was widely suspected as well. heh, we in chicago know all about voter fraud-how else did more people vote for a candidate than were registered as living in a certain area? hell, barry-o's ACORN made voter fraud their specialty service!

so after a week of protests between the supporters of both candidates, the leader, ayatollah khameini (not the same as ruholla khomeini-the guy who led the first iranian revolution in the 70s) told the people to accept ahme-nutjob as their leader, or else bad things would happen to them. but while tehran becomes a divided city, the fact is that most of iran is sick and tired of the ayatollah's. most of iran's population is under the age of 30, and in this day and age of computers, cellphones, and global interconnectivity (youtube helps), they see how miserable their lives are under the mullahs.

young ladies like to wear makeup and dress nicely-something they can't do in iran without serious consequences, and young men like electronics, computer games, and sports-most of which are forbidden by the mullahs. plus, kids these days, if you cut off their electronics (cellphones, computers, etc) they get MAD!!

threats and intimidation will only go so far-and unless the ayatollah's are prepared to go so far as to kill everyone who opposes them (which i hope doesnt happen given that most of the population is young people, but then again, islam is not a religion known for achieving its goals through peaceful means), iran will seal its own fate. hell, i heard that the mullah's are sending in russian mercenaries to help out the iranian police force disperse the riots!

down with the dictators!

volunteers

no thanks to obama and his "stimulus", i haven't been able to find a job. well, my dad has me working at his office as a secretary, but that's a family business, so that doesnt count. also, it doesn't help my case that for my intended major, currently listed as pre-pharmacy, i need 60 hrs of community service PLUS 30 hrs of behind-the-counter work.

since the economy is tanking, collectivism is the new black, and while my mom traditionally sent me and my brother off to summer school in the past, i can't go now cuz im 3000 miles away from school to have anything count! so to get me out of the house, my mom made me go out to volunteer. as of today, june 21, i volunteer for 1 hour at the northfield township food pantry in glenview, IL for 1 hour on thursdays, and come tuesday, i'll be volunteering almost full-time at a greek nursing home in wheeling, IL.

the greek nursing home is actually not bad. i was actually looking forward to working there cuz the environment is happy and the locality is clean and smells good (unlike most other nursing homes). plus, im orthodox christian too. even though im a different breed of slav and i don't know a word of greek, at least we have the same religion.

the food pantry, on the other hand, is almost the opposite. its located in an office building, but because its a government building, the inside is dingy and depressing. the food area itself holds alot of food-mostly canned and boxed (or bagged) stuff. there is a row of industrial fridges that hold milk, dairy (including yoplait yogurt, which is $2 a carton where i live!), eggs, some fruits and vegetables, and stuff like that. there is also a big freezer that holds frozen foods, as well as ice cream.

but the biggest shock came when i opened the freezer to put stuff in, and there, sitting in neat columns in the back, was lou malnatti's pizza. lou malnatti's is a chicago-area pizzeria that makes the BEST sausage deep dish in the country, but it's not cheap. the large pizzas usually run about $25, whereas the little ones are like $10. i couldnt believe the sight of that expensive pizza in a food pantry. while i heard the lady in charge saying to some kids that walked in that all the food in the pantry was donated or purchased with donated money, i couldn't help but think what leeches the recipiants of food pantry items are. why should i be forced to buy cheap, preservative-filled crap that could potentially kill me because it saves money, when those indigants-many of whom are able-bodied-get name brand expensive stuff for free?! i was sorely tempted to take a box of lou malnatti's and hide it in my purse (i have kinduva big purse), but i didn't. it would have started to melt and a wet purse would look suspicious.

the poor in this country get treated better than the poor everywhere else in the world. that said, i don't wanna hear them bitching about how we as a society don't do enough to help them.

a funny joke

in the spirit of good humor and keeping some light in this dark world of ours, here's a joke-courtesy of patrice lewis over at "rural revolution".

Katie Couric, Charlie Gibson, Brian Williams and a tough old U.S. Marine sergeant were captured by terrorists in Iraq. The leader of the terrorists told them he'd grant each of them one last request before they were beheaded and dragged through the streets.

Katie Couric said, "Well, I'm a Southerner, so I'd like one last plate of fried chicken." The leader nodded to an underling who left and returned with the chicken. Couric ate it all and said, "Now I can die content."

Charlie Gibson said, "I'm living in New York , so I'd like to hear the song 'The Moon and Me' one last time." The terrorists' leader nodded to another terrorist who had studied the Western world and knew the music. He returned with some rag-tag musicians and played the song. Gibson was satisfied.

Brian Williams said, "I'm a reporter to the end. I want a tape recorder so I can describe the scene here and what's about to happen. Maybe, someday, someone will hear it and know that I was on the job till the end." The leader directed an aide to hand over the tape recorder and Williams dictated his comments. He then said, "Now I can die happy."

The leader turned and said, "And now, Mr. Marine, what is your final wish?"

"Kick me in the behind," said the Marine.

"What?" asked the leader, "Will you mock us in your last hour?"

"No, I'm NOT kidding. I want you to kick me in the behind," insisted the Marine.

So the leader shoved him into the yard and kicked him in the behind. The Marine went sprawling, but rolled to his knees, pulled a 9 mm pistol from inside his cammies and shot the leader dead. In the resulting confusion, he emptied his sidearm into six terrorists, with his knife he slashed the throat of one with an AK-47, which he took, and sprayed the rest of the terrorists killing another eleven.

In a flash, all of them were either dead or fleeing for their lives. As the Marine was untying Couric, Gibson and Williams, they asked him, "Why didn't you just shoot them all in the first place? Why did you ask him to kick you in the behind?"

"What!?!" replied the Marine, "and have you three report that I was the aggressor....?"

while blogging about the election on myspace, i wrote this comment: in 2008, journalism as a respectible profession, died and left a rotting, stinking carcass behind.

i hope they all go under...>:[

my favorite op-ed writer ed anger has his say on that ridiculous feud between sarah palin and david letterman. as for my take, letterman went too far cuz as far as im concerned, no one should ever joke about sex with a minor. that is just plain crass. although, i never really found letterman funny, i wouldnt be surprised if his ratings dropped because of this whole debaucle.

read this. i thought i'd post something humorous as opposed to my usual doom-and-gloom politics. ed anger was a columnist for the now defunct tabloid "weekly world news" (still on internet though!). he's known for his sharp satire of current events, AND he's right-wing, so its even more fun!

a moslem nation?!

here's a story that will have anybody with a brain see red.

as we all know, barry-o has returned to the middle east. today he paid a visit to the saudi princes in riyadh, saudi arabia. no reports of him bowing to the saudi king this time around (we all know what really happened there).anyway, in a speech to the princes, obama announced "if you count all the moslems in the united states, we are a moslem nation". when i heard that, my jaw dropped. there are approximately 2.3 million moslems in the US. our entire population is something like 300 million. this means that moslems make up less than 1% of the population.

we have caught our president in a lie-and a big 1 at that! america is a CHRISTIAN nation!! most of our population is christian, not moslem! it also doesnt help barry-o's case that 46% of people don't have a favorable view of the moslem world. but that doesnt matter, at least not to the state-controlled media (who, by the way, accepted the saudi rules on journalism during their stay-dont leave your hotel unless you are going to cover the meetings btwn the saudi princes and barry-o, and dont report on anything else you see or else you will be arrested and detained in a saudi prison). and to go in this vein, CBS has crowned barry-o the "titular head of the islamic world" because they are putting their "hopes and dreams on 1 man" and newsweek confirmed this by calling osama and al-quaida "has-beens". notice that the "hopes and dreams" part is left conveniantly vague-what is the moslem world hoping of barry-o? that isreal be wiped off the map? that they will forcibly impose on us their way of life like sharia law?

because of this whole matter, i'm mad as hell!! not only am i a right-wing christian who's gov't has painted a target on her back, but obama and his cronies are bending towards people who want to send us back to the 7th century!! and they will stop at nothing until they rule the world-whether by outbreeding us or killing every non-moslem they see. i mean, with george tiller's murder, the media and left were quick to blame the entire christian religion when it was clearly an isolated case. but on the other hand, some army recruiter was recently killed, and another one seriously injured when their recruitement booth or outlet was attacked by a young moslem fanatic IN THE NAME OF ISLAM!!! yet, the media dismisses this as an isolated incident, since looking at actual data on this kind of issue tells a completely different story.

im tired of this shit.

maybe i should run for president. i think i'd do a better job running the country than this shmooklan!

will this be us?

here's a fascinating article from the russian newspaper "pravda". back in the soviet union, pravda was basically the communist's lapdog newspaper, much like the modern drive-by media.

It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American decent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the back drop of a passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me dear reader, I meant people.

True, the situation has been well prepared on and off for the past century, especially the past twenty years. The initial testing grounds was conducted upon our Holy Russia and a bloody test it was. But we Russians would not just roll over and give up our freedoms and our souls, no matter how much money Wall Street poured into the fists of the Marxists.

Those lessons were taken and used to properly prepare the American populace for the surrender of their freedoms and souls, to the whims of their elites and betters.

First, the population was dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based on pop culture, rather then the classics. Americans know more about their favorite TV dramas then the drama in DC that directly affects their lives. They care more for their "right" to choke down a McDonalds burger or a BurgerKing burger than for their constitutional rights. Then they turn around and lecture us about our rights and about our "democracy". Pride blind the foolish.

Then their faith in God was destroyed, until their churches, all tens of thousands of different "branches and denominations" were for the most part little more then Sunday circuses and their televangelists and top protestant mega preachers were more then happy to sell out their souls and flocks to be on the "winning" side of one pseudo Marxist politician or another. Their flocks may complain, but when explained that they would be on the "winning" side, their flocks were ever so quick to reject Christ in hopes for earthly power. Even our Holy Orthodox churches are scandalously liberalized in America.

The final collapse has come with the election of Barack Obama. His speed in the past three months has been truly impressive. His spending and money printing has been a record setting, not just in America's short history but in the world. If this keeps up for more then another year, and there is no sign that it will not, America at best will resemble the Wiemar Republic and at worst Zimbabwe.

These past two weeks have been the most breath taking of all. First came the announcement of a planned redesign of the American Byzantine tax system, by the very thieves who used it to bankroll their thefts, loses and swindles of hundreds of billions of dollars. These make our Russian oligarchs look little more then ordinary street thugs, in comparison. Yes, the Americans have beat our own thieves in the shear volumes. Should we congratulate them?

These men, of course, are not an elected panel but made up of appointees picked from the very financial oligarchs and their henchmen who are now gorging themselves on trillions of American dollars, in one bailout after another. They are also usurping the rights, duties and powers of the American congress (parliament). Again, congress has put up little more then a whimper to their masters.

Then came Barack Obama's command that GM's (General Motor) president step down from leadership of his company. That is correct, dear reader, in the land of "pure" free markets, the American president now has the power, the self given power, to fire CEOs and we can assume other employees of private companies, at will. Come hither, go dither, the centurion commands his minions.

So it should be no surprise, that the American president has followed this up with a "bold" move of declaring that he and another group of unelected, chosen stooges will now redesign the entire automotive industry and will even be the guarantee of automobile policies. I am sure that if given the chance, they would happily try and redesign it for the whole of the world, too. Prime Minister Putin, less then two months ago, warned Obama and UK's Blair, not to follow the path to Marxism, it only leads to disaster. Apparently, even though we suffered 70 years of this Western sponsored horror show, we know nothing, as foolish, drunken Russians, so let our "wise" Anglo-Saxon fools find out the folly of their own pride.

Again, the American public has taken this with barely a whimper...but a "freeman" whimper.

So, should it be any surprise to discover that the Democratically controlled Congress of America is working on passing a new regulation that would give the American Treasury department the power to set "fair" maximum salaries, evaluate performance and control how private companies give out pay raises and bonuses? Senator Barney Franks, a social pervert basking in his homosexuality (of course, amongst the modern, enlightened American societal norm, as well as that of the general West, homosexuality is not only not a looked down upon life choice, but is often praised as a virtue) and his Marxist enlightenment, has led this effort. He stresses that this only affects companies that receive government monies, but it is retroactive and taken to a logical extreme, this would include any company or industry that has ever received a tax break or incentive.

The Russian owners of American companies and industries should look thoughtfully at this and the option of closing their facilities down and fleeing the land of the Red as fast as possible. In other words, divest while there is still value left.

The proud American will go down into his slavery with out a fight, beating his chest and proclaiming to the world, how free he really is. The world will only snicker.

Stanislav Mishin

my final thoughts on this article include, but is not limited to, the sad acknowledgement of how liberal my orthodox church has become. id fallen away a long time ago, but the way i see it-apathy and communist-reared priests have taken their toll on the faith. its no secret that i read many catholic blogs and agree with their message for the most part (with the exception of a few things, like purgatory), and have seriously considered leaving the orthodox church for good and becoming catholic instead. but im not quite sure that i'm ready, for changing your religion is not like changing your socks-there's much more to think about that doesnt involve cosmetic purposes.

also, i know that our public schools are terrible! teachers have no incentive to teach and kids have no incentive to learn! is it any wonder that the teachers union has seen to it that my de-generation can barely think for itself?! i'd like to think of myself as an exception since i was reading classic books ("the brothers karamazov" made me kinda famous my senior year of high school) and getting a more rounded education via talk radio behind my teacher's backs, but you'll be hard pressed to find someone like myself nowadays! i mean, the likes of me have already been classified as a terrorist, no thanks to janet napolitano's now-infamous "watch list". the dictator's worst enemy is an intellectual, cuz the intellectual will question the dictator's every move. have you noticed that for all the emphasis we put on individuality, the encouragement and results always show conformity?...

"fairness doctorine" killed the radio star

i came across this story on WND a few days ago, but i cant seem to find it anywhere.

WND has been pretty good about reporting on the fairness doctorine-a legislative piece that will essentially kill conservative opinion talk radio by forcing conservative radio stations to hold liberal talk shows to "balance" the views. if the station refuses to comply, the licenses are revoked or heavy fines may be imposed.

but what caught my attention about this story was this: apparantly, the obama stooge in charge of constructing the fairness doctorine, whose name i cant remember, wants to give out licenses ONLY to radio stations that are owned by women and minorities. apparantly, stations owned by women and minorities are statistically more likely to carry liberal radio programs.

HOWEVER, statistics also show that conservative radio stations tend to have alot more money then liberal ones. this is because advertisers are more apt to pick conservative stations because they have a larger audience. the station earns alot of money from those ads. naturally, the statists like obama and company want everyone to be poor and miserable, so they'll naturally attack the wealthy conservatives, regardless of what the people say.

after reading that story, i came up with an idea, provided that the fairness doctorine comes to pass. being a woman (and for minority privileges, i'll play up my slav/mediterranean roots-hey, if random shmos can pull it off, so can i), once i finish college, i think i'll own my own radio station. since by then, my favorite radio hosts rush limbaugh, mark levin, and michael savage (he's had a heluva week) (sorry sean, but you're too polite) will have been banished from the airwaves, but i will bring them back to the air. sure i'll carry the manditory liberal crap, but i'll find a way to squeeze rush and co. in, even if its after dark and they can only play in the wee hours of the night/morning. being from the people's republic of IL, i know that no law is foolproof-if there is a loophole, find it and exploit it.

the revolution is only beginning.

illegal GPS tags-coming to your front door soon

here's a disturbing story i read about during my lunch hour.

the white house has ACORN (yeah, remember those thugs?) teaming up with the census bureau, and together, they're going around to every house in the country to put GPS tags on the property-w/in 40 ft of the front door. while it may sound innocent, imagine how sleezy this could turn out to be. though you can say that im regurgitating the "right-wing fearmongering crap", if your house is GPS tagged, its marking your property so that you can be found or tracked down more easily by anyone with a GPS device. its the equivalent of painting the lamb's blood on the door. imagine what could happen to you or your family if the exact coordinates of your house was to land in the hands of someone seedy-such as an obama brownshirt who decides that he's had enough of you, a god-fearing pro lifer, and your "bigoted" views. with the coordinates of your house, the brownshirts could break into your house in the middle of the night and take you away, like what the soviets and red china used to do to dissenters and others whom they disagreed with (and occasionally it happens in this modern day). though this is an extreme scenario, it could very well be the case. how frightening would it be to wake up one morning and find the religious, little granny next door mysteriously missing and there's no record of her existance, even though you saw her just yesterday? its like something out of "animal farm" or "1984".

i mentioned earlier that the census bureau was involved with the GPS markings. HOWEVER, in an ironic twist, THE US CENSUS ISNT DUE TO BE CONDUCTED TILL 2010!!

people who've confronted the censors were threatened with fines and legal action if they continued to protest the censor's presence and action on their property. when angry homeowners complained directly to the local censor's office, they were given vague answers. with this many numbers, it could be coincidence, but given the thuggery of ACORN, its plausible that there is something going on that shouldn't. but its not the end! a lawyer in TX is looking into the situation to see if he can get the grounds for a class-action lawsuit against the census bureau.

before i sign off on this post, id like to share some personal thoughts. with regards to the totalitatarian steps the obama administration has been taking, im beginning to wonder about my own safety. given my conservative views-which distinguish me from many of my peers and even my parents! (i think im more right-wing than my parents!!)-in a way im playing with fire. in this day and age, im liable to be as persecuted as the early christians for my opinions! but i have history behind me. i will not be a drone like the rest of my peers.

in english this semester, perhaps conveniantly so, we learned how to use and manipulate rhetoric. this has served me well, for when i watch the news, i can see right through the stories and the reporters like a windowpane. hell, i can read obama like a book and the things he says are just plain words-empty as a drum, or when he's not using the teleprompter, that his words take on a more sinister meaning. i like to think im an informed citizen-perhaps dangerously so, but i dont regret it. until i get chased into canada or shipped off into siberia, i will continue to berate the obama administration for the harm they do to this great country until those bums are thrown outta office.

god bless america!

mob rule

uuggghh!! here we go again.

as i was listening to mark levin's radio show, he played an interesting soundbite from a MI radio station that is bringing out the real face of the obama administration.

in this soundbite, a lawyer named jefferey loria (i think) is interviewed by the host of this radio show. anyway, loria is representing some of the people involved in the chrystler-fiat deal. based on what i'd been able to pick up, some of these high-profile clients are contractually obligated to recieve money owed to them (i think in the form of stocks and dividends). but what got my attention about this case is that when the clients tried to get their money, the white house threatened to drag the clients names through the mud if they continued to press on. it got to one of the clients and the client dropped his name out.

this sounds like a tactic employed by mobsters, similar to "the godfather" or "the sopranos"-if you dont agree with us, we're gonna squash you like the leech you are. aside from not being fair, its illegal. im not a lawyer, but even a half-wit like myself knows that failing to honor a contract is grounds for legal action. hell, the white sox were facing the same shit when they jilted north to phoenix outta tucson.

whats next? will the white house start ordering hits on unruly business owners because they refuse to take gov't money?

shame on you barack!! you can fool some of the people some of the time, and you can fool all of the people some of the time, but you cant fool all of the people all of the time. someone's gonna get smart eventually! how dare you tell us to make sacrifices when your own wife goes to help in a homeless soup kitchen wearing expensive designer clothes?! even more so, how do you have the audacity to classify god-fearing constitutionalists like myself terrorists?! you might be able to escape the wrath of the people, but even you cannot escape the wrath of god!

god help us all.

happy birthday dad!!

since today is my dad's birthday, so i thought id dedicate a special post just for him.

the only child of illiterate russian peasants, my dad was the first in his family to go to college. graduated from the university of IL with a degree in microbiology, and later went on to dental school. he finished with a degree in general dentistry.

always a religious man, my dad tried to instill his love of god in his children-my brother and i. it didnt work as well as he'd hoped, but at least he instilled in us a sense of decency that i find lacks horribly among my peers.

dad, this one's for you.
happy birthday.

tea party pix

hi everyone!
sorry im a little late in posting. ive been really busy with tests and biology and stuff like that. i went to the tucson tea party on wed. i had intended to go to the one at the valdez library, but i got off at the wrong stop downtown and it just so happened that the stop i got off at led right to the pima county judicial district. this particular tea party was held at the old pima county courthouse. its a nice looking building and the protest was in the back plaza.

as you can see, it was really crowded. it was also really hot.
at the tea party, there was a barrage of signs.

there was also a band performing. i forgot what they were called, but it was a country band.

after the band was finished playing, the organizers got up, gave a rallying speech, and demanded that we call the congress non-representatives. since im not an AZ resident (im sorta resident-less cuz i have an AZ drivers license, but most of my legal paperwork is still in IL), i couldnt call and harass the non-reps (i dont know my IL non-rep's number). i heard the organizers say that us angry constituents had jammed the phone lines and fax lines. i believe he used the term "burn their phone lines!"

im sure you'll want to know what kind of "treasonous" activities i participated in at the protest. truth be told, i didnt really do anything. since i couldnt stay long cuz i had to go back to school for class, i was only able to stay for 1/2 an hour or so. i couldnt bring a sign cuz you're not supposed to bring that kinda stuff on buses (i dont have a car, so im forced to rely on public transportation). instead, i brought a small tea bag. afterall, you cant go to a tea party without tea! and contrary to what the media has been misinforming you, the protesters were VERY WELL BEHAVED!! there were lots of boos, but nobody got rowdy. there were kids there, and who wants to set a bad example by brawling in front of the kids?

upon arriving back at UA, i got back just in time to watch the white sox get womped by detroit during my lunch hour. thankfully, it was only the end of the game, so i didnt have to suffer watching it.
bye!

tea party or no tea party?

since tomorrow is tax day, and tucson is hosting a tea party, i was thinking about going. i think this would be a good way to protest the trillions of debt that my children and grandchildren will inherit, and since im not politically active, this would be a good way for me to otherwise get involved. though this is potentially sedatious as even questioning barack's policies is seen as racism, i have to make my voice heard. if the chicago thugs won't listen, then maybe out here in AZ they will. it could be potentially dangerous, as all it takes is some rogue protesters to unleash the cops on us. hell, even the missouri state police is considering going after people who are considered "right-wing terrorists"-which basically means you're an ordinary pro-life, gun-rights, religious person, want smaller gov't, and encompass everything that true republicans ally themselves with.

perhaps im just being paranoid, and i would really like to go (i know the bus routes to get there), but there's the problem of classtime. though my 1st class tomorrow isnt till 3 pm, im worried that i'll lose track of time and be late. plus, its a 1-hr wait between bus circuits. i'll probably go, but i'll only stay for a short while. i have 2 locations to choose from: the valdez library or presdio park. neither of which are terribly far from UA. like i said, i dont know which 1 i'll go to.

there's also a white sox game on wgn tomorrow and i'd really like to see that too, but my rights are way more important than baseball. plus, i have my phone to keep track of the scores.

i might also take pix and if i do, i'll post them here.

goodbye and i'll report back from my day at the tea party!! we will not let this communist regime tromp all over us like we're cockroaches!!

obama youth brigade-church attendance forbidden

this is in response to a comment written on my last post, 'the bitch list'.

in 'the bitch list', i wrote about a comment about how obama wanted to create a civillian 'brownshirts' defense team. i was thinking about this recently, and then i came across this article on the feed of 'real clear religion'. i'll link this entry to the article at the end of this blog.

basically, it says that people recieving student loans will be required to serve 3 years doing 'community work' in a youth brigade. like the nazi brownshirts, you will be indoctorinated with leftist propaganda. but whats really the kicker is that if you belong to the youth brigade, you are absolutely forbidden to have anything to do with religion. now, i dont profess to be especially religious, but i believe in god and the only reason i havent been going to church is that i dont know where there is an orthodox church here in tucson!

Is this the change you really voted for? President Obama has only been in office for two months. Now we have HR 1388. The Bill was sponsored by Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY) with 37 others. The Bill was introduced to the floor of the House of Representatives where both Republicans and Democrats voted 321-105 in favor. Next it goes to the Senate for a vote and then on to President Obama.

This bill’s title is called “Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education” (GIVE). It forms what some are calling “Obama’s Youth Brigade.” Obama’s plan is require anyone receiving school loans and others to serve at least three months as part of the brigade. His goal is one million youth! This has serious Nazi Germany overtones to it.

The Bill would forbid any student in the brigade to participate in “engaging in religious instruction, conducting worship services, providing instruction as part of a program that includes mandatory religious instruction or worship, constructing or operating facilities devoted to religious instruction or worship, maintaining facilities primarily or inherently devoted to religious instruction or worship, or engaging in any form of religious proselytization.” That means no church attendance or witnessing.

Again, is this what America voted for? Here is part of the HR1388 Bill’s wording:

SEC. 1304. PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES AND INELIGIBLE ORGANIZATIONS.
Section 125 (42 U.S.C. 12575) is amended to read as follows:

SEC. 125. PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES AND INELIGIBLE ORGANIZATIONS.
(a) Prohibited Activities- A participant in an approved national service position under this subtitle may not engage in the following activities:

(1) Attempting to influence legislation.

(2) Organizing or engaging in protests, petitions, boycotts, or strikes.…

(7) Engaging in religious instruction, conducting worship services, providing instruction as part of a program that includes mandatory religious instruction or worship, constructing or operating facilities devoted to religious instruction or worship, maintaining facilities primarily or inherently devoted to religious instruction or worship, or engaging in any form of religious proselytization.

And finally

(10) Such other activities as the Corporation may prohibit.Update: Bill passed in Senate March 26th, 2009. Senate Roll Call #115 Details H.R.1388: To reauthorize and reform the national service laws.Update: April 1st, 2009.In the GIVE legislation, SEC. 1304. Section 125 was repealed in it's entirety from the bill. People who opposed the restrictions on church attendance rejoiced. However, closer examination reveals that all of the original wording was inserted further down in the bill in SEC. 1310 SEC 132A in it's entirety with the addition of even one more prohibited activity.

(As stated above, the original wording was inserted further down in the bill in SEC. 1310 SEC 132A in it's entirety with the addition of even one more prohibited activity…

SEC. 1310. PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES AND INELIGIBLE ORGANIZATIONS.
Subtitle C of title I (42 U.S.C. 12571 et seq.) is amended by inserting after section 132 the following:

‘SEC. 132A. PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES AND INELIGIBLE ORGANIZATIONS.
‘(a) Prohibited Activities- An approved national service position under this subtitle may not be used for the following activities:

‘(1) Attempting to influence legislation.

‘(2) Organizing or engaging in protests, petitions, boycotts, or strikes. …

‘(7) Engaging in religious instruction, conducting worship services, providing instruction as part of a program that includes mandatory religious instruction or worship, constructing or operating facilities devoted to religious instruction or worship, maintaining facilities primarily or inherently devoted to religious instruction or worship, or engaging in any form of proselytization, consistent with section 132. …

‘(10) Conducting a voter registration drive or using Corporation funds to conduct a voter registration drive.

‘(11) Carrying out such other activities as the Corporation may prohibit.

scary, isnt it? original article can be viewed here.

the bitch list

well, this is more of a pet peeve list, but im calling this 'the bitch list' cuz i bitch about how ridiculous these topics are.

  • the environment-i am a notorious critic of global warming. i don't believe that it exists because NON-GOV'T FUNDED SCIENCE IS TELLING A DIFFERENT STORY!!!! we're getting colder (NOT warmer!), and carbon dioxide is much too heavy to float up to the ozone layer. while opposing it pretty much labels you the equivalent of a heretic, if you want to recycle and go 'green', thats fine BUT DONT BAMBOOZLE ME INTO DOING SO CUZ I MAY NOT BE ABLE TO AFFORD IT!!!! but also, aside from the cost, 'green' technology is so new, that its worth and effectiveness hasn't even been proven yet!
  • mispronouncing 'illinois'-over my vacation, i was watching TMZ when one of their spazzes interviewed a hunky republican IL senator, and when the spazz said the name 'illinois', he included the 's' at the end of my state's name, so that it sounded like 'ill-in-oys', not 'ill-in-oy'. i wanted to strangle that spazz!! there is absolutely NO excuse for mispronouncing a state's name!! especially if you grew up in this country!! i commented about this on zen wizard's overrated list, but this happens alot with people not from the midwest. illinois is french, as the french dominated the midwest at one point in history, and they left their legacy in the names of the towns, cities, counties, and states (IL, detroit, des moines, joliet, du page (county in IL), fond-du-lac, lacrosse, etc).
  • teachers who talk about their personal lives in class-when i was in high school, i used to encounter this alot. i mean, its ok if you talk a little about your personal life to add some variety to class discussions, but dont get into the graphic details! i had a summer school health-careers teacher who told us that when her kids were born and as she was giving birth, the water from her amniotic sac sprayed the intern obstetrician who had come to help her give birth. stuff like that you just dont talk about in class. plus, she talked alot about her kids, and that really bugged me.
  • homework over vacation-the peeve says it all
  • tests after vacation-like the professor thinks anyone is actually gonna study over the course of the vacation. pffft, yeah right.
  • announcers who are boring as hell-i found this to be common in football games, but some nationwide general-sports announcers just plain suck.
  • obama-i am a conservative, and i do not approve of our current president's course of action because they are damaging the moral, and industrial fabric of our country. WAKE UP PEOPLE!!! THE MAN IS NOT GOD!!! first he'll take away our jobs and give us a welfare state as well as saddling our future generations with mountains of debt. then, he'll take away our kids and have them serve in brownshirt-style 'obama corps'. i kid you not. it came right outta his mouth on the campaign trail, only he called it, i believe, a 'civilian volunteer army'. in that vein, he seeks to make 'community service' a mandatory thing. EXCUSE ME?! i thought the whole point of 'community service' was a voluntary thing!! even criminals on parole have an option of doing community service as a condition of their parole. if you make community service mandatory, the quality of the service may start to go down because people are being FORCED to do it, not because they want to be there. if you WANT to be there, 9/10 you'll find a better environment.
  • liberals-i do not like your kind very much. modern liberalism is a double-standard: you're wrong and because you're wrong, you're a *insert label here*. not only have you taken over the media, you're decieving us into destruction.

well, thats the bitch list for tonight.

why we elect liars as leaders

i found this article on wnd.com. i thought it was a fascinating insight into the mind of a socialist-leaning regime.

Did you ever stop to wonder why most governments – no matter where on earth you look, or what time period you consider – tend toward being dishonest, predatory and tyrannical?

Iraq was one big torture chamber before America and its coalition partners liberated it. North Korea is a national concentration camp, where every citizen is the slave of a demented little dictator named Kim Jong-il (who may or may not still be alive – hard to tell in such a fantastically closed society). Zimbabwe, once a major breadbasket for all of Africa, has sewers clogged with aborted babies, an inflation rate of over 11 million percent, and its average life expectancy has been cut almost in half, from 57 to only 34 years.

Yes, I know, these are some of the worst governments on earth. But a great many other nations are not much better. Burma and Sudan are ruled by brutal military dictatorships and mass slaughter and genocide are normal there. The vast Middle East is made up largely of Arab-Muslim police states, almost two dozen of them, where Islam's strict, medieval Shariah law reduces everyday life to one of repression, cruelty and paralyzing fear at best – and at worst, terrorism, "honor killings" and death by stoning for relatively minor offenses (and sometimes for no offense) – all sugar-coated with a stiflingly rigid and intolerant religious code.

China, with a quarter of the world's population – 1.3 billion souls – is still at core a ruthless and suffocating communist dictatorship, despite its massive economic growth. Russia has deteriorated dramatically in recent years; its judicial system is almost dysfunctional, there's virtually no freedom of the press, and international human rights organizations report widespread abuses, including systematic torture of people held by police.

We could continue on with our tour, but we'd just find that most other governments on this earth, from the Far East to Africa to South America, are corrupt, predatory and power-hungry. Each typically perfumes its tyranny with an idealistic, utopian philosophy like communism or Islamic fundamentalism to help control the population. Even Europe and the United Kingdom, once the crown of Western Civilization, are firmly in the grip of secular (de facto atheistic) socialism, which suffocates their once-vibrant Christian culture and seduces their citizens into giving up their hard-won freedoms, independence and wealth in exchange for "cradle-to-grave" security.

That brings us to America.

The United States of America has a transcendent heritage of liberty rooted in self-government and personal responsibility, the result of a revolutionary 200-year-old "experiment" so gloriously successful it became a shining light in an otherwise mostly dark world.
Yet, in recent decades, we too have been seduced. Many of us have been taught in our universities that the "self-evident truths" the founders relied upon are just outdated and dangerous myths. The press routinely portrays values the founders considered to be evil (high taxes, unrestrained federal power, permissive sexual morals) as good, and good as evil. Same with Hollywood, which once showcased pro-American and patriotic themes, but now glorifies sex, violence and total moral confusion.

With this constant cultural subversion in the background, no wonder millions of Americans have gradually been demoralized into depending on government to solve all of their problems, fueling today's uncontrolled, cancer-like growth in government.

Power-hungry demagogues have always used basically the same methods: They demonize "the rich," implying they obtained their wealth by exploiting and stealing from the downtrodden; they stir up racial or tribal hatreds at every opportunity; they blame convenient scapegoats for problems they themselves have caused; and they promise universal peace and happiness if we'll just give them unlimited power over us.

But they win our support only by appealing to the basest part of us – anger, dissatisfaction, greed and especially envy. They know instinctively that if they can stir up and ignite these dark and addictive passions in all of us, they will seduce us away from our inner dependency on God, and instead create a massive voting bloc of people dependent upon them. The reward for this transference of fidelity is great power for them, and confusion, demoralization and ultimate bondage for us. In its purest form, this phenomenon is known today as Marxism, communism, socialism – the spiritual core of which is raw envy.

Communism, as we know, is atheistic – where the government is the only true god, the giver of blessings, the solver of problems, the dispenser of justice and mercy, the source of civilization's progress. Of course, the only "progress" it actually confers is from freedom to slavery.

And yet, this is exactly the appeal more and more Americans today have been conditioned to respond to, as we have progressively fallen away from the Judeo-Christian values that once animated our culture and institutions. The envy-based system Marx unleashed on the world is alive and well, and in different forms still dominates large parts of the world. In America, it has taken root in the once-noble Democratic Party.

As Americans have succumbed to this socialistic seduction, government has enlarged to its current incomprehensible size and has sucked much of the life and productive capability out of the nation, while feeding its uncontrolled growth.

For instance, here's how energy expert and scientist Arthur Robinson, Ph.D., explains this transformation, focusing on America's scandalous inability to provide for its own energy needs:
Why are American fuel prices so high? Why are food and electricity prices on their way to doubling? Why are economic conditions chaotic? The reason is simple. Americans no longer possess the freedom to produce the goods and services required to maintain their former standard of living. Taxation – both direct and indirect through currency inflation – runaway government regulation and government-sponsored-and-encouraged litigation have reduced the productivity of Americans below that required to maintain their way of life. This tyranny – this economic slavery – has been produced entirely by the federal and state governments of the United States.

There are no resource limitations, technological limitations or geopolitical reasons for the current energy shortages and high prices. These shortages and prices are solely the result of taxation, regulation and litigation that have stifled American energy-producing industries.
Government has also robbed Americans of their very substance by corrupting its money system. Almost a century ago, the U.S. Congress created the Federal Reserve System, handing over to a private banking cartel the crucial responsibility for the nation's money supply, which the people had specifically vested in Congress in Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution. Ever since, middle-class working Americans have seen the value of their money continually diminish – a clandestine form of theft – due to the Fed's inflationary, debt-based, "crank-up-the-printing-press" policies and the abandonment of the gold standard.

If you understand what money really is – it represents your life and substance, it's literally stored energy – you'll see that life itself is being stolen by government. As Texas congressman and money expert Rep. Ron Paul puts it: "From the Great Depression, to the stagflation of the '70s, to the burst of the dotcom bubble … every economic downturn suffered by the country over the last 80 years can be traced to Federal Reserve policy."

As citizens struggle to earn enough to support their families and pay their mortgages, the government literally throws their money away. Yes – throws it away. The watchdog group Citizens Against Government Waste annually issues its famed "Pig Book" that details the preceding year's wasteful spending by the federal government. You know, like giving $400,000 of your money to the Sparta Teapot Museum in Sparta, N.C., or $1 million for the "Waterfree Urinal Conservation Initiative" or $50 million for an "indoor rainforest" in Coralville, Iowa, or a thousand and one other wasteful and unconstitutional expenditures.

The level of squandering of taxpayers' substance is a wonder. As just one example, a recent audit showed the U.S. Defense Department wasted $100 million on unused commercial airline tickets it had purchased, never bothering to collect refunds even though the tickets were totally returnable and refundable.

And government doesn't just waste your money – it sometimes uses it to fund evil. Not too many years back, the public was less than thrilled to learn that the federal government was funneling their hard-earned tax dollars into support for obscene, perverse and blasphemous "art." There was the "homoerotic artwork" of photographer Robert Mapplethorpe, featuring images too repugnant to be described here. Then there was Andres Serrano's "Pi-- Christ," consisting of a crucifix submerged in the artist's urine (as well as "Pi-- Pope," with the image of the pope in urine). And of course there was David Wojnarowicz's "Tongues of Flame," depicting Jesus shooting up heroin. All funded by you.

It's not just obscene art we've paid for; it's obscene politicians too. We have a never-ending stream of prostitute-loving governors and other "public servants": President Bill Clinton had a predatory sexual relationship with a White House intern barely older than his daughter. Then there was New Jersey Gov. James McGreevey who held a press conference, wife stoically at his side, to announce he was coming out as a "gay American," and New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer who frequented high-priced prostitutes, and presidential candidate Jonathan Edwards who cheated on his cancer-stricken wife while accepting the "Father of the Year" award. The revelations are endless – congressmen preying on teenage page boys, frequenting prostitutes, "coming out" as gay, and betraying their sacred marriage vows.

All this corruption and outrageous behavior shouldn't be surprising. The fact is, a great many human beings are just plain dishonest and predatory, lying and stealing in a multitude of obvious and subtle ways. We all have selfish tendencies. For example, think about a typical male fixated on an attractive female walking down the street. Is this love? No, he just has exploitation and selfish gratification in mind. The point is: With virtually all of us beset by typical human flaws like selfishness, egotism, lust, envy, greed, anger, insecurity and the need for approval, how on earth do we expect the same flawed human beings to suddenly manifest great love and nobility when they get into government? Doesn't make much sense, does it? That's precisely why our founders wisely created a national government with very limited powers and lots of internal checks and balances.

What we need to understand here is that it's not just deranged psychopaths like Saddam Hussein and Robert Mugabe that give us tyrannical government; regular politicians and bureaucrats do it too. As long as they're unprincipled and self-serving, more inclined to preserve their job, personal advantage, wealth and comfort than to risk it all by championing the public good, evil will end up running rampant in that society.

I know this sounds pretty negative, but we really need to understand why it is that governments just about always end up playing god and controlling our lives.

Let's pause again and reflect momentarily on the core reality of our lives. Are you ready?
There really is an omniscient God, and He really does create human beings whose intended destiny is to discover ultimate fulfillment by being obedient to His leading in all things. And our life goes badly – and is supposed to go badly – if we rebel against His will and defy His laws, which are not only found in the Holy Bible, but are also "written" clearly inside each of us.
If we fail to find this inner fidelity to the One who created and sustains us and directs our paths, then we automatically designate someone or something else to fill that necessary role: We will worship another god. Moreover, when we are in rebellion against the true God, we need lies and deception to keep our pursuing conscience at bay – and people who enjoy power are all too eager to step up and play that role for us.

That's right: We elect liars as leaders because we actually need lies if we're rebelling against God's inward leading. Lies do a great job of "serving" us with an illusion of worth and righteousness (that's why we believe them compulsively), as we rebel against the real God, Who is always revealing our faults to us – except that most of us don't want to hear it.
Since bad government relies so totally on persuasive lying, let's take a look at that phenomenon. There's more to it than you might think.

Why politicians lie, and why we believe them

In "The Marketing of Evil," I explore many powerful manipulation techniques used to alter Americans' attitudes toward everything from abortion to divorce to homosexuality. But there's one technique that reigns supreme as the king of all propaganda weapons – lying. To make evil look good – and good appear to be evil – you have to lie.

The power of lies is not so much in the little "white lies" that are part of the fabric of most of our lives. It's in the big lies. It's paradoxical, but we're more likely to believe big lies than small ones.
How can this be? Wouldn't the big, outrageous lie be more easily discerned and resisted than the small, less consequential lie? You'd think so, but you'd be wrong.

There's a dark magic in boldly lying, in telling a "big lie" – repeatedly, with a straight face and with confidence and authority.

One of the greatest liars of the last century – Adolf Hitler – taught that the bigger the lie, the more believable it was.

During World War II, the U.S. government's Office of Strategic Services – a precursor to today's CIA – assessed Hitler's methods this way:

"His primary rules were: never allow the public to cool off; never admit a fault or wrong; never concede that there may be some good in your enemy; never leave room for alternatives; never accept blame; concentrate on one enemy at a time and blame him for everything that goes wrong; people will believe a big lie sooner than a little one; and if you repeat it frequently enough people will sooner or later believe it."

Hitler himself, in his 1925 autobiography "Mein Kampf," explained with eerie insight the fantastic power of lying:

… [I]n the big lie there is always a certain force of credibility; because the broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods. It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation. For the grossly impudent lie always leaves traces behind it, even after it has been nailed down, a fact which is known to all expert liars in this world and to all who conspire together in the art of lying. These people know only too well how to use falsehood for the basest purposes. ...

Truly the words of an evil genius. But let's bring this explanation down to earth: Suppose, just prior to Election Day, one candidate accuses his opponent of immoral or illegal behavior. Even if the charges are totally false, and even if the accused candidate answers the charges credibly and effectively, "the grossly impudent lie always leaves traces behind it." In plain English, no matter how effectively the accused answers the charges, some people will still believe he's guilty, and many others will still retain varying degrees of doubt and uncertainty regarding the accused, who may well lose the election due to the cloud hanging over his head. This, as Hitler said, is the magic of lying that "is known to all expert liars in this world. …"

The "doubt-inducing" quality inherent in a "big lie" is actually more powerful even than Hitler explained in "Mein Kampf." Let's say someone tells you a real whopper – like, "Your husband/wife is cheating on you. I saw it with my own eyes." Although it's totally untrue, the big lie has the ability to upset you in a way the little, everyday white lie doesn't. And when you get upset over anything, guess what? You feel a little bit of guilt for being upset, a little angry, a little confused, perhaps a little fearful – and voila, all those conflicting emotions cause you to be unable to think straight, and you can easily end up compulsively believing the lie. To put it another way: When you're upset, the lie takes on a mysterious quality of attraction and believability, as though a protective force-field has temporarily been disabled, allowing the lie to enter your mental inner sanctum.

Hitler's principle is exactly what unprincipled leaders everywhere bank on to get their way with the public.

Using lies to create a crisis

One of the most creative uses of lying – and a key tactic for bending a population to your will – is the creation of a crisis. Now, anyone even superficially familiar with the history of the political left has heard references to the strategy of creating crises as a means of transforming society. You've probably heard of the "Hegelian dialectic," a key Marxist technique whereby an idea ("We need more gun control laws!") generates its opposite ("No, we don't need more gun laws, we just need tougher sentencing of criminals!"), which leads to a reconciliation of opposites, or synthesis ("OK, we'll compromise by passing new gun-control laws, but watering them down somewhat"). This is how socialist progress is achieved "peacefully" – through conflict or crisis – and always in the direction of greater socialism.

The problem is, this "crisis-creation" talk just sounds so wicked, so foreign to us, that it's hard to believe our fellow human beings, no matter how confused or messed up, could actually engage in such a practice. But it's not only true; it's actually a common part of everyday life.

Consider this non-political example and how it illustrates the power of a crisis to mold people to the deceiver's will: In a very sad child-abduction case, a little girl was approached after school by a man she didn't know. He claimed her house was burning down, that her parents were busy putting out the fire, and that he was a friend of the parents who had asked him to pick up their daughter and take her to them. The crisis – and the emotional upset the girl experienced over the thought of her house being on fire and her parents in danger – drowned out her normal caution about getting into a car with a stranger. You guessed it: The stranger was a predator who had concocted the lie for the sole purpose of tricking and upsetting the girl into going with him so he could brutalize and murder her.

This tragic story makes an important point: A crisis throws us off our guard, upsets us and inclines us to make decisions and accept "solutions" we normally would reject.
Politically, the strategy is to create a crisis, or exploit a real one, by throwing people into a mode where they can be redirected toward a predetermined "solution" – whether it's imposing "carbon penalties" on businesses in response to fears of global warming, or a trillion-dollar taxpayer-funded corporate bailout in response to a sudden "financial meltdown," or draconian gun-control laws in response to a rash of school shootings. We're talking about solutions people would normally reject, but now in a crisis accept, and as a result establish a new baseline of what is normal – which becomes the starting point for pushing the nation still further leftward in response to the next "crisis."

Let's look at a few examples of fake "crises." They're all around us:

Small towns and cities across America pull a certain stunt with depressing regularity around election time. They claim that if taxpayers don't vote in favor of a new tax levy, they'll be forced to eliminate or drastically cut back police and fire protection – two items the people actually want from their government. I once lived in a town where the city council and city manager decided that the way to force voters to approve their new tax levy would be to threaten to completely eliminate police protection within the city limits between midnight and 8 a.m. No joke. This was a crisis of their own creation and for their own obvious purposes. After all, the city council members and their budget committee could have re-prioritized their budget to cut back on street sweeping, park maintenance, library hours, raises and benefits for themselves, or other things less crucial to the public safety and welfare, and gotten by on the existing tax base without leaving the citizens vulnerable to criminals every night. As I said, this is a common tactic in cities and towns up and down the turnpike.

The radical environmental movement's primary modus operandi is the creation of crises where none exist. The "spotted owl" crisis in my home state of Oregon is a great example. Environmentalists claimed the northern spotted owl was dying out because of commercial logging of old-growth forests where the birds nested. So in 1991 a compliant judge halted logging in Oregon's national forests, causing the loss of about 30,000 jobs, an 80 percent reduction in timber harvesting, a consequent decrease in the supply of lumber and sky-high prices. I remember – I was there. However, it wasn't owls that environmentalists were in love with; they were in love with stopping loggers from harvesting any trees in Oregon's old-growth forests. The owls just provided the needed "crisis."

Oh, here's the rest of the story. Long after Oregon's timber-based economy was crippled by the court-ordered logging ban, the northern spotted owl population inexplicably continued to decline. Surprise! New research showed logging in old-growth forests wasn't a problem at all. The real problem, it turned out, was competition from another larger and more aggressive species of owl that liked the same habitat and food as the spotted owl.

The truth is, ever since "socialism" lost its luster as the salvation of mankind (because it has never actually worked anywhere), the environmental movement has become one of the most powerful, modern battering rams of the left for advancing the same socialist agenda. And of course, the biggest environmental cause of all is global warming.

Today, a generation of children worldwide is being brainwashed into believing they face imminent doom – monster hurricanes and tornadoes, polar ice melting and raising ocean levels, leading to catastrophic flooding, tidal waves and other cataclysmic events. Many have been forced to sit in classrooms and watch Al Gore's film, "An Inconvenient Truth," in which he claims the oceans may rise by 20 feet, leading to worldwide devastation. Not to be outdone, NBC reporter Meredith Vieira warned on national TV of the oceans rising – are you ready? – 200 feet. Thus, while the kids suffer from doomsday nightmares, grown-ups respond to the "crisis" by clamoring for "solutions" offered by the environmentalist crisis-creators.

And yet, not only is there absolutely no scientific basis for either NBC's 200 feet or Gore's 20 feet figure, in reality tens of thousands of scientists have gone on record stating their belief that man-caused global warming is a fake crisis. Indeed, as of this writing, more than 30,000 American scientists, including over 9,000 with Ph.D.s, have signed a petition stating: "There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gases is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth's atmosphere and disruption of the Earth's climate."

Another legacy of phony environmental crises is our fear of nuclear power. In truth, nuclear energy is clean, homegrown and abundant, and its safety record is extremely good. Many other nations – including France, Russia and Japan – have long taken advantage of this amazing power source. But irrational fear, in response to an environmentalist-created "crisis" mentality, has long gripped the American consciousness and contributed greatly to our dangerous national dependence on foreign energy sources.

The "Fairness Doctrine" is a freedom-destroying solution to a crisis that doesn't exist. With the exception of talk radio and certain online and cable TV news offerings, virtually the entire news media establishment is overwhelmingly left-of-center. Yet some congressmen and senators claim there's an unfair conservative bias in the media (talk radio) that demands "balance" by legally forcing radio stations to provide air time to "opposing views" – that is, to the left-leaning views that utterly dominate the rest of the information media.

Racism is largely a manufactured crisis in America today. So-called "black leaders" like Rev. Jesse Jackson and Rev. Al Sharpton are long-time professional race-baiters who thrive on stirring up racial suspicions and hatreds. In reality, America is probably the least racist nation in the world. Yes, we had slavery, but that ceased a century and a half ago when we sacrificed more than 600,000 American lives in the Civil War (more than in all other American wars combined) to exorcise it from our nation. Yes, we had segregation – but we long ago repented of this and made it illegal. Since the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s led by Martin Luther King, Jr., the vast majority of Americans – hundreds of millions of normal, middle-class citizens – believe deeply and wholeheartedly in the color-blind America King envisioned.

And yet Sharpton, Jackson and others have thrived for decades on literally creating the perception of racism where none existed – for their own benefit. From the fake rape claims of Tawana Brawley to the fake rape claims against the Duke lacrosse team-members – the false accusation of racism remains a powerful weapon of the left.

Similarly, charges of rampant anti-Muslim bigotry and hate-crimes in the U.S., leveled by groups like the ACLU and CAIR, constitute a totally fake crisis. Actually, Americans have demonstrated extraordinary restraint and magnanimity toward Muslims since the 9/11 terror attacks and the subsequent revelations of widespread Islamic antipathy toward America. In fact, according to a 2006 FBI report, between 2001 and 2006 anti-Islamic hate crimes in the U.S. decreased by 68 percent!

We could go on and on – fake crises are everywhere. People who want to manipulate and remold us are always creating crises, small or large, real or imagined, to use as leverage. That leverage, to be precise, is our emotional upset and our resulting inability to think straight and make sensible decisions. Repeat: Just upsetting us through any means whatsoever constitutes a mini-crisis – by means of which we can be manipulated. Although being upset by some injustice or cruelty seems like a "small" crisis in the scheme of things – it is the basis for all other crises, even the largest.

If you think about it, this process of remolding us through crises is a perversion of what God does with His children. He creates a crisis – or perhaps more accurately, allows a crisis to develop in our lives because of our ignorance of His laws – which cries out for resolution. Our marriage and family are in crisis, or our health is in crisis, or our finances are in crisis – and yet if we are sincere, truth-loving souls, that crisis mysteriously has a way of maturing and changing us, and we end up growing in His direction.

You might well wonder what kind of person could be so deranged that they'd create a phony crisis for the purpose of exercising power over others. But this shouldn't be hard to comprehend. For one thing, lots of us are so troubled and insecure that we develop an unhealthy need to be needed by others – a very common syndrome. Consciously or unconsciously, we tempt or corrupt people into becoming dependent on us, so as to fulfill our unhealthy need to be needed.
Moreover, consider that if you are consumed by pride – in other words, if you're a big egomaniac – you actually have a subconscious need or desire for other people to fail. Why? Because your own sense of worth is based on comparing yourself with other people, and particularly with cultivating others to look up to you. Unfortunately, this need for adulation can be fulfilled only if you weaken and fool other people into depending on you for their happiness.

So, if you're a dishonest, ambitious and manipulating politician like so many, even though you haven't murdered anyone, haven't committed genocide, haven't put people feet-first through a plastic-shredder like Saddam Hussein, you're still spreading evil and misery throughout the land.

If this syndrome describes you (whether in politics or in your marriage or at your workplace), you may not be aware of the forces working through you. Oh, you may occasionally catch a fleeting glimpse of it, but you quickly escape from this painful, humiliating realization. For a fraction of a second you see it, but then it's gone.

But let me ask anyway: Have you ever seen another person lose his temper, or fail in some other way – and felt a very slight, perverse sense of satisfaction? Or, when someone has done really well and received credit for it, or made a lot of money, or just expressed an obviously brilliant idea, have you ever noticed a subtle feeling of envy rearing its head inside you?

It's OK. Most everyone has experienced feelings like this at some point – perhaps often. But if you're a sincere soul and you are willing to observe these base feelings emanating from the dark side – and if deep down you really don't agree with those feelings – then in a very real sense those feelings are not you. In a sense, there are two of you, the real you being the observer who is chagrined over the dark thoughts and feelings rising from the deep. Watching those thoughts and feelings honestly leads to repentance and real change.

However, many people are not so sincere. And these type of thoughts and the dark forces behind them come to dominate their lives, albeit unconsciously. So without being a Saddam Hussein, but just being a prideful, selfish, denial-based person, you can do terrible things to other human beings – deceive them, betray them, enslave them. You can destroy lives and civilizations.
And this, once again, is exactly why we have limited government in America – because power corrupts, and now we know why.

By the way, what we're talking about here – the tendency for government to be lying and predatory – didn't start with Karl Marx. It has ever been with the human race. More than 2,000 years ago, the great orator and statesman Marcus Tullius Cicero foretold the decline and fall of the Roman Empire with these words, which exquisitely described the ravages wrought by lying politicians:

A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.

When all is said and done, we elect liars as leaders because we need lies. And we need lies because we haven't found God.

Lies that fulfill us in a wrong way are offered to us constantly, in every area of life: If our marriage in trouble, there's always "the other woman" or "the other man" who will embrace and reassure us that we're great people and that our spouse is the problem. But their lying "solution" only makes things immeasurably worse. If we're depressed or full of rage, but not really interested in understanding ourselves, we have experts eager to prescribe drugs to mask our symptoms – a false "solution" without repentance and hope of real change. Or we can bypass the doctor and go to the liquor store or criminal drug dealer to procure another wrong "solution."

William Penn said it all: "If man is not governed by God, he will be ruled by tyrants." Freedom apart from God is just an illusion of pride. This is because when we are at war with our conscience, something has to sustain our denial, our secret war against the still, small voice of Truth within – hence our need for lies. And government, in the form of other prideful human beings, is only too happy to oblige.

John Adams, a principal crafter of our Constitution, and later our second president, understood this very well, writing: "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."

But the Bible puts it most eloquently and succinctly of all: "Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is Liberty." (2 Corinthians 3:17)
